Several GHOST members were present at the SMAI-MODE, the conference on optimization of the French applied maths society SMAI. Two people got their work recognized by prizes:
- Waïss Azizian received the prize for the best talk of the conference for his work What is the long run distribution of SGD? A large deviation analysis.
- Davide Legacci was awarded the best poster award for his work The Geometry of Adversarial Learning: Mirror Flows, Poincaré Recurrence, and No-Regret Learning in Continuous Games.
